One in a Billion

“And even though I know how very far apart [we] are. It may help to think [we] might be wishing on the same bright star. And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby, it helps to think we’re sleeping underneath the same big sky.”

– Somewhere Out There (a song from An American Tail)

Did you know that more than ONE BILLION people throughout the world have some form of disability?!  That is one billion people with who you share a common experience!  One billion people, who, like you, overcome daily obstacles and inconveniences to meet another sunrise and a new day filled with opportunity!

If ever you feel tired and lonely, or that no one can possibly understand your struggles, remember that there are one billion other beautiful souls in this world who do understand. One billion men, women and children who are aspiring beyond the limitations of society and into their own realm of possibility.

The significance of one billion cannot be ignored!  You are not alone!  Take solace and pride in being but one in a billion!
